02 / FAQ
Good questions. Clear answers.
How many people can play? Does everyone need the app?
Play face to face with 3–12 people using one iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Pass the phone around. Other players don’t need to download the app or create an account.
Can we play without internet?
Built-in decks and local games work offline. AI deck generation requires internet. If AI is temporarily unavailable, you can keep playing with local decks.
What’s the difference between the two modes?
In no-word mode, civilians know the secret word and imposters don’t. In two-word mode, everyone sees only their own word, with no team label. Use clues, discussion and votes to find the imposters.
Why does my card disappear when I let go or switch apps?
This protects your identity. Hold to peek and release to hide. Switching apps or moving to the background covers the card. Return through the safe pass-phone flow to continue.
How do we win? What happens after a tie?
Civilians win by eliminating every imposter. Imposters win when their remaining number equals or exceeds the remaining civilians. For a tied vote, discuss and vote again. If word guessing is enabled in no-word mode, an eliminated imposter can also win by guessing the secret word.
What if the game freezes or closes unexpectedly?
Reopen the app and check whether you can resume your game. If the problem continues, note your device model, iOS version, app version and steps to reproduce it, then contact support. Avoid deleting the app first, as local decks and records could be lost.
How do I change languages?
Change the display language in the app’s settings. Display language and deck language/region are separate choices; changing the interface won’t translate existing private decks. Use the language menu at the top to change this website’s language.
Are there ads or required purchases?
Gather your friends and pass the phone. The offline base game is free, with no ads. The complete offline game and built-in decks are free. AI requires an active subscription; no free AI trial. AI deck creation and editing during your monthly subscription. Short-term request and concurrency limits apply. Saved decks remain playable after expiry.
How do I handle purchases, restoration or refunds?
If you’ve purchased, check that you’re using the same Apple Account and try the restore option when available in the app. Manage subscriptions in Apple’s subscription settings. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. Never send support your Apple password or full payment details.
